Description

Eddy Stikkelorum, born in The Hague in 1955, is a Dutch visual artist and freelance designer known for his pursuit of artistic freedom. After his education as an interior architect at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, where he felt limited in his creativity, he followed a follow-up education under the guidance of Joop Beljon, then director of the academy.

In 1984 Stikkelorum decided to focus entirely on autonomous free work. His oeuvre consists mainly of sculptures and objects made of modern materials such as polyester, laminated wood, perspex and epoxy. His works are characterized by abstract forms that embrace emptiness and space, whereby he strives to make the intangible visible.

Stikkelorum has carried out various assignments for municipalities and ministries, but his focus is on free work. His art has been shown in both national and international exhibitions, and he is represented by Michele Mariaud Gallery in New York.
