Description

Jeroen Henneman (born 1942 in Haarlem) is a Dutch artist known for his versatile contributions to the arts, including sculpture, painting, drawing, graphic design, illustration, and even theater and television. After studying at the Institute of Applied Arts in Amsterdam, he traveled to Belgium, France, Switzerland, and the United States in the early 1960s. His expansive work reflects his curiosity and openness, often blurring the boundaries between two- and three-dimensional art.

Henneman was widely recognized for his monument The Scream (2006), which pays tribute to the late Theo van Gogh and speaks about the importance of freedom of expression. Other notable works include public art installations such as Het Wiel (1996), on the roof of the Tax Office in Amsterdam, and his portrait of King Willem I (2003) in Breda. In 2015, he unveiled a statue of poet Leo Vroman in Gouda on the occasion of the centenary of Vroman's birth. Henneman's works often explore the theme of dimensionality, as seen in his Dog Series presented at ART ZUID in 2011.
