Stefan Annerel is a contemporary Belgian artist, born in 1970, who lives and works in Antwerp.

He graduated from the Higher Institute for Visual Arts in Ghent and is known for his glossy, transparent and abstract works.

Annerel's work is distinguished by the use of multiple layers of acrylic paint and resin on surfaces such as wood and glass, resulting in a three-dimensional effect. His compositions are often inspired by everyday patterns, such as details from advertising brochures and simple diamond patterns. By abstracting and combining these elements, he creates complex visual experiences that invite the viewer to investigate further.

In his recent exhibition 'Within the Invisible' Annerel presented works based on Scottish tartan patterns. This exhibition transported the viewer to the Scottish highlands and lochs, but in vibrant colours instead of the usual grey and gloomy rain landscapes.
