Coba Ritsema belonged to the group of painters called the Amsterdam Joffers. She painted beautiful still lifes, portraits, interiors and figures. Because her style matched the prevailing taste in the period around 1900, she was very successful as a painter. She was also praised abroad for her extraordinary talent and was awarded many times. Coba Ritsema remained active as a painter until an advanced age and, with a few exceptions, never dated her work. Museums: including Museum Boymans-van Beuningen in Rotterdam, Gemeentemuseum Arnhem, Haags Gemeentemuseum.
